The QAS Athlete App puts opportunities and benefits in athletes' hands

19 June 2024

The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) has partnered with global talent management and activation platform VLAST, to launch a new app that connects athletes with commercial opportunities and streamlines communication across the QAS.

The QAS Athlete App will provide QAS-supported athletes with access to important updates, exclusive offers from QAS partners, opportunities for paid appearances, training and education, and flexible work opportunities.

Jessica Walker, Director of Performance Partnerships at the QAS said the team worked with VLAST to put its supported athletes at the heart of the app experience, ensuring they get key information to support their elite sporting journey, at their fingertips.

“We’ve worked closely with VLAST to build the QAS Athlete App, leveraging their expertise across a number of leading professional sporting codes to create a tailored experience for QAS-supported athletes that will become a key part of the athlete experience that we deliver,” she said.

“The result is a platform that’s quick to set up, simple to use and gives athletes access to essential information and exclusive opportunities and updates from our partners, all in one place.

“A key focus for us was having a platform that would consolidate and prioritise information for athletes and add value, especially leading into Paris 2024, when their training commitments and the information they need to be across is increasing exponentially.”

Bronwen Knox OLY, Four-time Olympian Australian water polo player said having streamlined communication was essential for athletes and allowed them to stay across important updates and save time during demanding training and competition schedules.

“Just as we strive for perfection in our sport, effective communication is the cornerstone of success in any endeavour,” she said.

“I encourage all QAS supported athletes to embrace this new platform as a tool to connect, inspire, and elevate their sporting careers towards greatness.”

Nick Smith, VLAST’s Global Head of Customer Success said VLAST was thrilled to be supporting the QAS to help Queensland athletes achieve extraordinary sporting success on the world stage.

“We know how demanding professional athletes’ schedules can be especially leading into an event like the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games,” he said.

“We’ve taken our technology and our experience in supporting professional athletes, teams and sporting organisations around the world to be able to create a solution that will reduce administrative efforts and improve the overall experience for QAS athletes.”
