03 June 2024

Another QAS-supported athlete has booked their ticket to the Olympics and several QAS graduates have risen to the occasion in the Rugby 7s World Series final.

Australian Olympic Marathon team selection:

QAS-supported Genevieve Gregson will compete at her fourth Olympics in Paris after gaining official selection for the Australian marathon team.

It will be her first time competing in the Olympic marathon event after switching from the 3000 metres Steeplechase following the Tokyo Olympics.

It will also be the 34-year-old’s first Olympic Games as a mother after giving birth to her son Archer in 2022.

Gregson will join fellow marathon runners Sinead Diver, Jessica Stenson, Brett Robinson and Patrick Tiernan.

Good luck Gen!

Rugby 7s, Madrid, Spain:

Several QAS graduate athletes have pushed Australia to victory in the Rugby 7s World Series Final against France.

Charlotte Caslick, Dominique Du Toit, Maddison Levi, Teagan Levi, Kaitlin Shave, Bella Nasser and Sidney Taylor helped the Australian team dominate in Madrid with a final score of 26 to 7.

A special mention goes to QAS graduate Maddison Levi who scored a hat trick with only 30 seconds left. Levi’s total of 69 tries for the season is the second-best total in a series across men and women.

The win gives the Women’s Rugby 7s a strong momentum heading into the Olympics.
