16 July 2024

QAS-supported athletes will continue to have access to some of the world’s best Olympic and Paralympic-grade equipment thanks to a new partnership with Technogym.

The training and recovery equipment will be supplied to QAS high-performance gyms at Nathan, Chandler, Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast.

QAS-supported athletes will also be able to use Technogym equipment at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games following the company’s appointment as official Games supplier.

Technogym has a longstanding partnership with the Olympic and Paralympic Games and was appointed the official supplier for the Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Turin 2006, Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016, Pyeongchang 2018 and Tokyo 2020 Games.

QAS Director of Performance Partnerships, Jessica Walker, says the collaboration will help give QAS-supported athletes a competitive edge with better access to top-of-the-range, innovative equipment across the Queensland Academy of Sport’s gyms.

"This will enable our athletes and coaches to integrate cutting-edge technology and equipment into their training programs to help our athletes reach new sporting heights."

The partnership will also see QAS Strength and Conditioning coaches shape future Technogym products by providing feedback and information collected from QAS-supported athletes.

“We’re excited to be able to help create even better equipment for our athletes in the future by sharing our insights with Technogym’s product development team.”

Technogym founder and CEO, Nerio Alessandri, says they are thrilled to be the official equipment supplier to the QAS.

"As a nine-time official supplier of the Olympic Games, we have extensive experience supporting sporting teams and champions. We know what high-performance athletes need when it comes to reliable training and recovery equipment. To be able to provide our equipment to QAS-supported athletes makes us really proud and we can’t wait to see what these athletes achieve on the world stage."
